Should I blog about my oils?
I personally think that blogging is a great way to connect to your followers and to direct people towards your signup link. Here are some things to keep in mind when you are thinking about starting a blog.
Blog or Newsletter
If you have already build up an email list it might be good for your to use that and start sending out newsletters monthly to keep your followers up to date on your Young Living journey and to let them know how they can join. If not, you could start a simple blog where you share all about oils and how to use them.
Where do you want people to go and see what you have been up to lately?
If you are very active on social media, then you will probably have the most connections happening over there, so don't make it harder on yourself. If your social media channels are sufficient to get your message out there, just blog through your Facebook and Instagram posts.
Do you have enough content to keep writing blog posts?
It is important that if you commit to blogging, that you can keep up with writing new material. Three to four blog posts per month is the sweet spot in my experience. So if you say yes to blogging, make sure that you can come up with new content.
And most importantly…do you like to write?
This should be the first question you should ask yourself. If writing is not your thing, blogging is going to be challenging and I would recommend that you stick to writing smaller social media posts. But if you long to share your writing with the world, BLOG!
Use the apps above to create some sweet graphic designs for yourself. Here are some ideas!
Info or Quote graphics
Info graphics or Quotes are a great way to connect with your network. They are also very effective when you want to grow your following because they are easily shared by your readers.
Create some images to promote thePremium Starter Kit. Sprinkle these around everywhere you can so that everyone knows that they can sign up with you.
We have these available in the group, but it's always good to have some lovely instagram storie graphics that are personalized to your style and account.
Diffuser Blend Images
Now this one is super fun! Create some Instagram images with a background colour that fits your feed and make some super easy diffuser blend images with Canva. Example: Vacation Blend - 3 drops stress away - 3 drops lime - 3 drops orange.
Growing your following
Growing your following takes time. There is no way around this.
Of course there are a million ways to “boost your following” and gain new followers and I do advice you to research what ways feel good to you and give them a try, but in the end it’s about building a connection, gaining trust and being authentic. Gaining fifty new followers a day sounds awesome, but if none of them really read your blog posts or sign up with you, it’s pretty pointless. So I advice you to write from the soul, stay real and invest time into connection with your follwers.
Below are some of the ways I like to use when I invest in my brand and business.
Writing epic content for others!
Writing pieces for other websites is a great way to get your name out there! Your words will reach a new audience and hopefully this will lead to new connections.
Soul check : Only write for websites and people that resonate with you.
Let others write epic content for you!
The opposite is also a good strategy, let other people write pieces for your website. The guest will most likely share this on their own social media which gives your website new exposure.
Soul check : Again…it has to resonate with your own work. Stay true to your own vibe.
Who doesn't like a fun giveaway?
I absolutely LOVE running giveaways! There is just something beautiful about sending Oily gifts to people that you have never met before. So run some giveaways and introduce people to Young Living in this way. If you are looking to build a bigger network, you can also ask people with a big following if you can run a giveaway on their social media!
Soul check : Always. I repeat, always send out the price to the winner.
Be generous and grateful.
This one doesn’t need a lot of explanation…we all like freebies!
So be generous, create some awesome Oil content, pdf it and give it away for free. Run a discount once in a while. Make something and just give it away to someone you connected with online. Send out some handwritten cards if that is your thing.
Soul check : Choose quality over quantity!
A monthly reminder to keep them up to date.
Sending out monthly newsletters is a great way to send a lot of information straight to your followers. If you promote your blog posts or work on social media, you have to follow their rules and regulations, and we all know that FB has a lot, but when you send out your own newsletter you have full control.
Soul check : When someone trust you with their email address, don’t spam them!
